A new London-based crime series from Guy Ritchie and Top Boy writer Ronan Bennett promises to be a dream come true for fans of gritty gangster dramas—think The Avengers, but with fewer capes and a whole lot more profanity.
Titled MobLand, the show certainly comes armed with all the right ingredients. Tom Hardy takes on the role of a ruthless underworld enforcer, while Pierce Brosnan steps in as a hardened London-Irish crime boss, complete with a Quiet Man-inspired accent and a hairstyle that can’t quite decide if it’s a combover or a quiff.

Just ten minutes in, the series wastes no time setting its tone—delivering a barrage of expletives, a brutal machine-gun execution, and a blood-soaked chase through a sex club, all set to the pulsing beat of The Prodigy’s Firestarter. If crime drama clichés were a bingo card, MobLand would have you calling out “full house” before the opening credits even finish rolling.
